What we do
MediRedi builds secure, temperature-controlled storage for controlled substances and ALS medications on ambulances and fire apparatus.
The man behind MediRedi
In the early 2000s, Randy Budd chaired the Arizona Department of Health Services task force that brought rapid sequence intubation to prehospital care. The new standard required those medications to stay at refrigerator temperatures — in Arizona, on a fire truck. Crews tried coolers and blue ice swapped every eight hours. It wasn't reliable, and the medications weren't always at the bedside when they were needed.
No product solved it, so Randy built one. Drawing on his background in refrigeration and mechanical design, he engineered the first MediRedi in 2003. Every department that tested it bought it. The design earned a U.S. patent with 36 claims, and MediRedi has served fire departments since 2004.
